Last Tuesday, our second graders (Room 102) had a wonderful discussion about the Spanish Royal Family. We talked about the king, his family and the Monarchy.
If you want to know something about the topic you can visit this link.
Students from room 203 will have a Spanish test to practice numbers from 0 to 1,000,000.
The test will take place on Thursday, February19.
The numbers for the test and a lesson on how to count in Spanish will be available soon in this blog.
Some students from room 201 are completing a special assignment about travel agencies.
They have to choose a country and prepare a tourist brochure so they can attract people to visit the country they chose.
The students are already working on their Power Point Presentation and after that, they will have to make a “paper copy” of the brochure.

Our second and third graders are going to start a new unit this week. This time we will visit Spain, learning about their culture and interesting places and people. They will also learn useful expressions related to time, meetings and schedules. The unit will be introduced with a Power Point presentation including places like Sevilla, Segovia, Madrid or barcelona, and artists like Gaudi, Cervantes or Goya.
Some of our 5th and 6th grade students are participating on a pen pal program. They are writing and receiving e-mails from other kids from “maria moliner” Middle School, in Segovia, Spain. Our students are learning more about their pen pals and about life in other countries, realizing that their lives are not so different.
Currently there are 24 students involved in that program, hoping that we can find more schools to write to, so we can expand the opportunity to other students.
This week our students watched a presentation about Mexico. After that activity we had a discussion on the topic.
